France's Macron meets new German Chancellor Merz at the Elysee

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in Paris on Wednesday (May 7) for his first visit abroad after his election on Tuesday. French President Emmanuel Macron received Merz with smiles and a big hug.
